I started my technical writing journey while working as a language course coordinator in Barcelona, Spain. Following the financial crash in 2008, there was a shift from face-to-face training to online or blended models. As we began to build new training models, both students and teachers needed guides, workflows, and instructions to support them with the new technology.

With more than 10 years of experience teaching English as a foreign language - and many years as a language student myself - I applied what I had learnt about communication to create clear and concise documentation for our reformatted courses.
After that, I continued in the realm of online learning; moving on to a bigger organization with a more sophisticated blended learning model and proprietary LMS. There, I helped train partners to build their own blended model based around our platform, providing them with training materials to support trainers, learners and admin staff.

Eventually, as the company expanded, there was a need for a documentation specialist role, which allowed me to focus on building and improving on the existing documentation and resources for both internal and external users of our platform.
Then, in 2020, I decided to set out on my own with CopyCatConsulting where I could work on more diverse projects. Since then, I have enjoyed helping mostly small, founder-led organizations get their support documentation up to speed.

Since leaving the dreary climes of my native UK, I have lived in Argentina, South Korea, Japan and Bali, but am now back in my spiritual home of Barcelona.
